  • Every minute, 750-1,000 milliliters of blood flows through the brain.
  • The brain is 73% water. It takes only 2% dehydration to affect human’s attention, memory, and other cognitive skills.
  • Sixty percent of the brain’s dry weight is fat, making the brain the fattiest organ in the body.
  • There are as many as 10,000 types of neurons in the brain.
  • It is crucial that the brain gets a constant supply of oxygen. Lack of oxygen for even as little as five minutes can cause some brain cells to die, leading to severe brain damage.
