Ways to energize yourself

Small acts and minor changes to your routine can add a great deal of energy to your life. Consider the following simple ways to enhance your energy and uplift your mood at various points during the day:

  1. Change your socks daily – Discard socks in which you have perspired the previous day and put on a fresh pair.
  2. Keep your nostrils clean – If your nose is blocked you can feel more tired and cranky. Make sure to gently but thoroughly clear out your nostrils every morning during your bath or shower.
  3. Have a “Power Snack” in the afternoon – Eat or drink a natural and healthy snack 2-3 hours after lunch. This can be juice or fruit or mixed nuts.
  4. Drink lots of water
    8-10 glasses per day will keep you hydrated and increase your brain power. You can place a bottle of water at your office / house table and drink water every half-hour or so.
  5. Take a “Power Nap”– Relax in your chair after lunch and let yourself digest. If you feel sleepy, let yourself take a 10-15 minute nap.
  6. Splash water on your face or take a quick shower – Water on the skin stimulates our circulatory system and metabolism. Splashing water on your face or taking a quick shower during the day reduces stress and energizes the body.
  7. Add soluble fiber to your diet – Eat citrus fruits and add fibrous fruits and vegetables to your diet
